The reopening in stages of the 950mm gauge Eritrean Railway in recent years has been a quite remarkable story. Back on 7th March 1967, Jeremy Wiseman photographed 0-4-4-0T Mallet 442.54 at Asmara station having brought up a train from the Red Sea port of Massawa. (JW)
